Dallas Traveling Man
The Traveling Man is a series of art work located near the Deep Ellum district of Dallas. The sculptures were funded by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to complement their new light rail line. There has been some controversy over this, as DART tore down an old tunnel that went under an abandoned railroad right-of-way. The tunnel and walls were a canvas for local artist. Many felt the artwork should have been saved. The only piece of the tunnel remaining is a section of the arch with the date 1930 inscribed. It was incorporated with one of the new art pieces.Read More
